Sukhil Patel is a Machine Learning Engineer at Open Climate Fix, a non-profit product lab focussed on aiding the energy transition. He currently works on training and deploying renewable energy forecasting models. Before working at Open Climate Fix, he worked on smart energy platforms, helping reduce carbon emissions through optimising and forecasting EV charging for thousands of devices. He studied at Durham University obtaining a Master of Mathematics degree.
Alexandra Udaltsova is a Machine Learning Engineer at Open Climate Fix. Prior to joining the organisation she collaborated with OCF on her MSc thesis for University College London's Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development program, studying the effects of auxiliary data sources on solar forecast performance. She is currently experimenting with using ensemble weather predictions for probabilistic solar generation forecasts.
Improving PV forecasting with multi-modal machine learning.
Accurate short-term PV power forecasting is critical for integrating solar energy into modern grids as global PV installations surge. In this talk, we'll present Open Climate Fix’s approach: leveraging machine learning on extensive weather and satellite imagery datasets to deliver reliable PV power forecasts.
