My research interests lie in using machine learning to improve our understanding of the Earth system and our representations of it in climate models. I’m very excited to explore the power that generalisable, hybrid data-driven + physics parameterisations might bring to our models, especially using online learning.
After completing my MPHYS in Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Exeter, I worked for the UK Met Office on all things climate and weather science. I started as a Deployable Project Scientist and eventually moved to the Climate Resilience team, and was fortunate enough to land some cool projects with some amazing colleagues. These included working on climate emulators, ecosystem impacts modelling, sea-level science, ML for the global lightning observation network, land-surface modelling, flood modelling, attribution science, and some more software engineering-y projects.
