Research Interests:

I am a DPhil student on the Intelligent Earth (AI for Environmental Science) CDT. My research aims to apply machine learning techniques to further develop ecological monitoring methods using UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle; drone) imagery. I will apply the methods I develop to study the population dynamics of grey seals (Halichoerus grypus) in the UK, aiming to better understand their population trends and responses to potential population threats like climate change or management strategies.

I am broadly interested in population ecology, conservation, marine top predators and how novel technologies or methods can be used in ecological monitoring.
